I truly believe it is every business' responsibility and privledge to give back the community they live in.

I live in Grand Rapids, home to one of the best children’s hospitals around- DeVos Children’s Hospital. They care for over 100,000 children a year. During a recent visit to DeVos Children’s hospital, I read about a program they currently have in place to make hospital visits easier on children, called the Child Life Program. The entire ride home from the hospital I asked myself, "How can I make a difference?"

The answer came to me while I was making a Princess Robe later that evening. I can make some little girl feel like a Princess, via my Princess Robes. So, for every purchase made, 10% of proceeds will go into a fund. When that fund reaches $100, I will make 2 Children’s Robes and bring them to DeVos Children’s Hospital. The Child Life program coordinator will pick out the children that needs a “pick me up”.

This past winter my son came down with RSV, so we unfortunately stayed at Devos for three nights. I am now commited more than ever to the Child Life program. Even the little touches they presented during our three day stay- bringing coffee and breakfast bars in the morning, videos to keep us entertained, or just gifting a free meal pass for my husband made me appreciate all the more the families that have to stay on an extended basis.
